See The Sights Of Spectacular Singapore!

    Published on

Singapore is one of the world’s most vibrant, diverse, and exciting places, a unique island city-state perched just one degree of latitude above the equator off the southern tip of the Malay peninsula. Singapore is home to around six million people made up of a wide variety of ethnicities including Chinese, Indian, Malay and European. There are four official languages and one of them is the modern lingua franca, English, so getting around is easy. Singapore is famous for a lot of things, its rich cultural heritage, its delightful and varied cuisines, and the many exciting attractions that make it such a fun place to visit!

To do Singapore in the grand style it so richly deserves, make sure to stay in the best 5 star hotel in Singapore where you will be treated to a life of luxury by the ever-attendant and friendly staff, an experience you won’t want to miss! Once you have rested up and been thoroughly spoilt, it’s time to put on your walking shoes and go see the many spectacular sights of Singapore! Here are just a few to start you off!

Marina Bay – The new heart of the city in many ways, the bayside lies just below the central business district providing a breezy and beautiful area for Singapore’s busy people to get out and enjoy the fresh sea air! The current Marina Bay area is relatively new, the result of a land reclamation project that began in 1969 and came to completion in 1992. Big changes were made, one of which was diverting the river into the bay instead of having it flow directly into the sea. The area is now home to a variety of distinctive artworks, monuments, and landmarks. Here are just two of our favourites!

ArtScience Museum –  This ultra-modern museum features major exhibitions that blend science with the arts, an exciting mix of technology and culture that celebrates the fascinating new relationships they form. The building itself is a work of art, forming a giant lotus flower! There are many exciting permanent exhibitions as well as guest exhibits from all around the world. The Tang Dynasty wreck of the Jewel of Muscat, a cargo-laden Arab dhow ship is one of the museum’s most beloved treasures, especially its intricately designed silver and gold vessels perfectly embody the art and science combination since we still don’t know how they were made today!

The Singapore Flyer – Since its opening in 2008 this has become one of the city’s most popular landmarks. The Flyer is a 165 metres high observation wheel that was the world’s highest until the 167 metres High Roller of Las Vegas stole the crown. The Flyer has 28 air-conditioned capsules that can each hold 28 passengers, they are mounted on the wheel structure’s outboard rim to give riders unobstructed views of the city and the sea. The wheel first rotated in a counter-clockwise direction to those watching from Marina Centre, but Feng-shui masters declared that to be inauspicious so the direction was reversed, another great example of Singapore’s unique mix of the old and the new!

There is no other place in the world like Singapore, so come see for yourself!
